Jovian Isaiah Lawrence Wins The First Annual 2013 Toastmasters International District 44 Youth Speech Contest

Atlanta, Georgia. November 9, 2013 — They say big things come in small packages, and this was definitely BIG! Jovian Isaiah Lawrence, an 11-year old, 7th grade Clayton County student, who attends Solid Rock Academy, was the winner of the First Annual 2013 Toastmasters International District 44 Youth Speech Contest. Jovian absolutely mesmerized the audience with his style, charisma, humor, and powerful speaking voice. His 1st place award-winning speech on "The Importance of Helping", was absolutely phenomenal! Jovian faced some fierce competition from the Gavel Club and Leadership Programs from all over the state of Georgia. However, at the Toastmaster's District 44 Fall Conference held at the Ravinia Crowne Plaza Hotel off Ashford Dunwoody Road, in Atlanta, he was able to deliver a presentation that left the entire audience in awe. As stated in his speech, he would like to do more if his 'schedule' was not so busy. He sings in the Higher Living Christian Church choir and consistently volunteers at local homeless shelters. He is a member of his school's Junior Beta Club, FLL Robotic competition team, Sim City Engineering competition team, and is the President of the 10-A-Day Speaks Gavel Club. He has received numerous achievement awards for his participation in Spelling Bees, Science Fairs, and various speaking competitions. He frequently visits schools and other community organizations to speak on a wide variety of topics, such as goal setting and the importance of helping others.
